When you start out, your website is available on a Delixor subdomain. On the Website → Web address page you can give it its own address — in three ways:
- Buy a new domain through Delixor,
- connect a domain you already own (the full domain, e.g.
yourdomain.com), - connect a subdomain of an existing domain (e.g.
website.yourdomain.com).
Buying a new domain
- On the Buy domain tab, click Search domains. Suggestions are based on your business name and country, and only free, immediately available addresses are shown, with a yearly price.
- Click Buy next to the address you want.
- On your first purchase, the system asks for the domain owner details (name, address, email, phone) — the domain registry records these, and most fields are pre-filled from your business data.
- Payment is by card. After a successful payment everything else is automatic: domain registration, nameservers and the Cloudflare setup, the certificate (HTTPS), and switching your website to the new address. This usually takes 5–30 minutes; the Web address page shows the current state.
Connecting a domain you own
If you already have a domain at a provider (for example where you bought it), enter its name on the Connect your own domain tab, then set the record shown on the page in your domain provider's DNS manager:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A | @ | the Delixor server's IP address (shown on the page) |
The system checks the record automatically every 15 minutes, for up to 48 hours. As soon as the record is live, the web address activates — until then, the Web address page keeps showing what to set and the current status.
Connecting a subdomain
If your main domain stays elsewhere (e.g. your company's main site), you can point a subdomain to your Delixor site on the Connect a subdomain tab:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | the first label of the subdomain (e.g. website) |
the target shown on the page |
Checking is automatic here too, every 15 minutes.
Statuses
- Waiting for DNS setup — the record is not live at your provider yet; the page shows what to set.
- Activation in progress — the record is fine; the certificate and serving setup are running.
- Active — your website is live on the new address.
- Failed — the setup did not succeed; the reason is shown on the page.
You can detach the web address at any time with Detach; your website then stays available on the Delixor subdomain.
